I've never liked shoe shopping, not even for myself and I simply can't understand why so many women (in particular) do. Anyway, where am I going with this?

Well it quickly became very apparent today that DDWT Junior is certainly following in his dad's footsteps (no pun intended) with his immense dislike for shoe shopping as well! Trouble was, it was for him we were doing the shopping.

To make matters worse, we needed shoes and trainers for him - so we were going to have our work cut out. I won't bore you with the details of a marathon 4 hour shoe shopping session - where tempers flared on several occasions, but we got there in the end.

My pockets are nigh on £55 lighter (for size 11 children's shoes!) but at least we got the job done and the little fella is happy with his new "shoosies".

I'll also give a mention to the Landore park and ride service, which we used for the first time today. For £1.50 (per car) it's great value and we were very impressed by the service and shall be sure to use it again - rather than get gridlocked in Swansea and then pay through the nose for parking.

It was also nice to have a rest day from the training as well. Having done 4 runs this week, I was in need of a rest as I felt leg weary to say the least. I still missed not doing any training though!DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-32699287644330996342008-04-15T20:12:00.002+01:002008-04-15T20:37:30.718+01:00Washing machine woeIt's not been the best of days really. Our Zanussi FL1082 washing machine started leaking big style this morning and some baby items got damaged in the process.

Now you're probably wondering what the connection is there, well I'll tell you. Mrs DDWT - currently in the midst of baby 'nesting' mode - decided to 'spring clean' some baby items in the washing machine. However, whilst the wash was in progress the said baby items got jammed in the seal between the washing machine drum and door - cue a 'burnt' seal and damaged baby items. The end result was a leaky washing machine. Grrrrr.

With tempers flaring - "what the hell did you want to wash x in the washing machine for?" - I decided to take solace in the Yellow Pages and find a local Zanussi repair centre. Fortunately, there was one in Morriston - 'H. Phillips'. A quick call and estimate later and our repair said he'd be with us shortly to collect the washing machine - which he duly did.

Some 3 hours or so later our washing machine returned and was thankfully now back in it's original state - i.e not leaking! The service was excellent in fairness and I'll be sure to use them again if the need ever arises (which I hope it doesn't!).

Unfortunately, the whole episode meant that a leak had sprung in my wallet.... to the tune of £75.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-54074259302954856772008-04-12T23:06:00.003+01:002008-04-12T23:09:33.210+01:00Gillingham v Swansea CityThe Swans finally sealed promotion to the Coca Cola Championship with a 2-1 win at Gillingham and I was there!

Full details of the my day on tour with the Dieters Bar Jacks to follow soon!

DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-20184037036220311372008-04-11T21:01:00.003+01:002008-04-11T21:10:10.600+01:00Merit awardDDWT Junior was rather pleased with himself today (as were his Mam and Dad!) as he was awarded a 'Merit Award in school for his "lovely descriptive work about his teddy bear" - the teddy bear aka Farmer Ted!

As a result he wanted his certificate to take pride of place in his bedroom - so that's exactly were it'll end up when I get the chance to knock a nail in the wall.

In fact he's had a pretty eventful day all round really, as it was gym day in school and after dinner him and his mates headed off to Toots in Neath for some fun. Consequently he was out on his feet come supper time tonight! Still, he's had a really fun day which is the most important thing.

Thankfully, I remembered to take some cash in work today - a good job really considering I was going for a haircut straight after work. Not sure really what the going rate for a haircut is these days, but I stump up £7.50 every 4 weeks for a "number 2 on the back and sides, with a dam good trim on top please".

I had to make sure I was at my best for this party I'm going to tomorrow in Gillingham you see. It's a football party, where hopefully the Swans will be celebrating promotion to the Championship come 5pm. Whatever happens, I'll be sure to give you a rundown of the days events - with pictures and video of course.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-26496898587561539882008-04-10T21:52:00.004+01:002008-04-10T22:05:38.342+01:00Sea viewAfter a few non-training days, it was time to get my kit on again and go for a lunchtime run. Thankfully I managed to miss the squally April showers and trotted out a 27 minutes 7 second run along the foreshore of Swansea bay.It never ceases to amaze me how beautiful the view is from the foreshore, especially when the sun beats down across the sea and beach. It certainly helps take my mind off the sweaty, panting, plodding that I call running!

DDWT Junior continues to be a bit of a grizzly bear this week and is complaining about having pains in his knees and arms - usually a sign of a growth spurt (or at least it has been on past occasions).

So as a result, we decided to measure how tall he was. He now stands at 109cm and he's 3 days short (no pun intended) of being 4 years and 3 months old. So he's grown 1.5cm since November 2007.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-3465302170388340772008-04-08T23:13:00.001+01:002008-04-09T21:21:00.881+01:00Carlisle United v SwanseaWe're now on our way home after watching the Swans earn a point with a dominant performance at 2nd in the table Carlisle and in doing so take a step nearer the Championship.

Our 680 odd mile round trip started at 10:30 this morning and we quickly made time up the M4 before having a quick pop and crisps stop at Frankley services on the M5 (after deciding to give the Jack Army's usual stop at Stensham a miss!). Nevertheless we still managed to bump into a few other Jacks making the long journey north! In fact we saw quite a few other Jacks on tour as we made our way along the M5 and M6 - all with flags or scarves fluttering in the wind as they motored towards Carlisle.

After a relatively brief but expected hold up on the M6 we arrived at Carlisle at 15:30 and headed off in search of the ground. Once we acquainted ourselves with the locality, we decided on setting up camp at a Toby Carvery some 1/2 mile away from Brunton Park.

The £5 buffet option was too good to miss and we proceed to devour a voluptuous beef dinner, washed down with lashings of cider (well I did anyway, not the driver!). Somewhat ironically, we were soon joined by the same Jacks we had bumped into at Frankley services and our numbers began to swell even more nearer kick-off. The locals were in a jovial mood and the banter flowed until we decided to ground at 18:30.

The ground itself was rather dated - with the exception of the stand we were in, which was modern. The place felt more like a rugby union/league ground to be honest, rather than a football one - mainly because of the old type terracing which went the length of the pitch (a la Whaddon Road, Cheltenham).

By kick-off the Jack Army totalled in excess of 580 - a commendable effort for a Tuesday night fixture - and we certainly made ourselves heard in the 10,000 plus crowd. In fact the only noise the home fans appeared to make was the rather predictable chant of 'United, United'.

As for the game itself, well after an iffy opening 15 minutes we settled and began to play our crisp passing game and we were unlucky not to go in at half-time 1 or 2 up with Robbo hitting the post (the 1st of 3!) and Pratley having one ruled out for playing it before the ref's whistle.

We got even stronger in the 2nd half and we very professional in the way we disciplined ourselves in the face of some very tasty Carlisle tackling - I'm still amazed someone didn't get sent off. I counted at least 3 scything lunging tackles. Anyway, it remained goalless and we were more than happy with our point. I think this video clip which I took pretty much sums it up to be honest.

A brisk walk back to the car meant we were homeward bound by 22:05 and we making sound progress on the journey home until junction 16-17 on the M6, where a 35 minute jam (due to overnight roadworks!) held us up somewhat - even if it was 00:30 in the morning!!! A brief toilet stop and some dense fog on the M5 saw us finally reach home at 03:10 - knackered but more than happy with the result.

Next up it's Gillingham away on Saturday and it's sure to be another long but hopefully productive day. The Jacks ARE going up!DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-85597924761115953672008-04-07T22:37:00.003+01:002008-04-07T22:46:46.703+01:00Return to schoolNormal school service resumed today after the two week Easter break and in fairness DDWT Junior was in a relatively co-operative mood when it came to getting ready.

We anticipated a rougher ride as it was a very restless night all round - as always seems to be the case before going back to school. Still he went along happy enough and seemed to enjoy his first day back - telling everyone about Legoland and beetle castles no doubt!

The lack of a decent night's sleep also affected my memory, as upon getting to work I remembered that the gang were going to the Oriental Garden - Chinese restaurant on Swansea Marina - for lunch. Trouble was I was already armed with my full-to-the-brim lunchbox and didn't have any cash. Bah humbug.

So what did I do, go and ride my bike instead! It was cold to say the least and I was glad to get back to the office after the 9.73 mile ride - which took 39 minutes 45 seconds, 18.9 mph max
and 14.6 mph average speed).

That'll teach me to forget about a work's lunch ;-)DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-34545960012235724412008-04-06T18:57:00.005+01:002008-04-06T21:48:59.816+01:00Spring snowfallLike most of Wales, we awoke this morning to find a 1cm covering of snow outside - which was totally unexpected as the forecast had been for 'light snow showers'.

Having been up since around 7am DDWT Junior and I got to see most of the snow and the snow showers, as by the time Mrs DDWT surfaced from bed (around 9am) most of it had started to melt away in the warm 'ish spring sunshine. Come mid-morning and you'd never have said it had snowed at all!

With the afternoon sunshine, I decided to take the family down to Swansea's new central library - which they hadn't yet seen. Having been before I was in little doubt that they'd be impressed and I was proved correct as we spent the best part of an hour and a half in the children's area alone!

It really is a super library and if you are ever in Swansea, then I'd recommend a visit. You can even grab a bite to eat or have a nice cuppa in the coffee shop adjacent to it in Swansea City Council's civic centre.

I suppose it goes without saying that we couldn't leave without DDWT Junior borrowing a couple of dinosaur books and Mrs DDWT picking up her usual batch of autobiography's - Marie Helvin and Leslie Grantham in this case. Me well I went for my usual techy stuff, "Going to Bed With Google"!

No visit to Swansea is complete without a visit to the beach, so we took the short cut from County Hall straight onto the beach. At this point I thought it would be a good time to take a snap of the progress being made on Swansea's highest (to be) building - Meridian Quay - since the last time I took a picture.

It's grown quite considerably as you can see!

After last week's weight horror show, I decided not to put added pressure on myself by weighing this week, especially as I have been exercising and watching what I've eaten. I couldn't have handled the disappointment of not losing any weight this week.

Anyway, yesterday I did a 30 minute stint on the elliptical worker (10.8KM) and I did another 30 minutes today (11KM) and burnt 302 calories in the process. So I'm getting there, albeit slowly.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-60515821127798242902008-04-05T22:14:00.005+01:002008-04-05T22:20:01.805+01:00Marks and Spencers Discount CodeNo here's a cracking little discount code for you - 15% off at Marks and Spencers with no minimum spend!

Use the code WEBSS6NC at the checkout to claim your 15% Marks and Spencers Discount, but be quick though as this voucher expires on April 8th.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-6210689074053036912008-04-05T21:54:00.004+01:002008-04-05T23:00:36.456+01:00Swansea v BournemouthHmm, so much for our promotion party at the liberty stadium today. I was gutted and annoyed, but am now (after a few hours thought) somewhat strangely positive again.

Losing 2-1 to Bournemouth wasn't in the script and losing in the matter we did - two goals in two injury time minutes wasn't either. I was left speechless to be quite honest and wondering quite how we managed (with the help of an iffy corner decision) to feck it all up having controlled the game for so long.

From my perspective, we didn't play up to our usual standards but still showed enough to beat an average Bournemouth side whom only started to play after we went 1 up (which beggars belief as they need every point they can get to stay up?!?).

It was all going to plan with Huddersfield doing the business on Doncaster, us leading one nil and the majority of the 15,000 odd crowd thinking Championship here we come. But come 16:50 it all started to go out the window - starting with the news of a Doncaster equaliser. It went downhill fast after that as you now well know.

What went wrong? Well regardless of the finger of blame being pointed at the linesman for the 1st goal (the rub of the green flows both ways) our defending has to be criticised - especially in my opinion Dorus DeVries on today's evidence and from what I've seen of recent away games (on TV highlights). Yes he's a decent keeper, but I do feel that he could have done better today.

Messrs Lawrence, Tate and Austin are usually made the scapegoats - rightly on occasion - but I do feel a blind eye is turned to Mr DeVries inadequacies as well.

Pick of the bunch today for me were Britton and Kevin Austen - regardless of the flak he got/gets.

One other moment worth a mention was a terrific half time display by the Royal Marine Commandos, whom abseiled from the roof and then gave an unarmed combat display on the field. Excellent entertainment and a nice change from the usual half time fare. Well done lads!

I'll finish off with a picture of Cyril the Swan just before he abseiled off the liberty stadium roof before the game...

... by the end of the game, I think quite a few fans wanted to jump off the roof! Keep the faith Jack Army, we're nearly in the promised land.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-55640065844535209122008-04-04T20:45:00.007+01:002008-04-06T22:02:24.817+01:00Swansea JacksNo this isn't an explanation as to why people from Swansea are referred to as 'Jacks', it's about a book I've just finished reading.

The book was called 'The Swansea Jacks - From Skinheads to Stone Island' and was as the title might suggest about football hooliganism or terrace culture as it is often referred to nowadays. Now you're probably wondering why the hell I'd want to read a book of this nature.

Well there are several reasons to be quite frank... I'm a Swansea fan and am intrigued by our 'hooligan element' and their literary skills (LOL); I was curious if I knew/recognised any of the 'faces' (which I did); but most of all it was because I have an interest in the world of football hooliganism - purely from a psychology perspective I can assure you!

As an ex-semi professional rugby player who represented his country, I'm intrigued (and always have been) as to what makes these men/teenagers (and some women believe it or not) get out of being a football hooligan. Now I'm not referring to the people who walk around clad out in the latest Stone Island, Burberry, Aquasanctum gear for bravado - I'm on about the real hardcore element who purely want a scrap with the oppositions firm/dressers call them what you want and get one hell of a buzz out of doing so.

I just find it odd that you don't get this sort of needle between rival sets of rugby fans - well none that I've witnessed anyway - but you do with football. Is it because the 'aggro' is on the field perhaps?

I suppose I always remember what a football playing mate of mine used to say - "The real hard lads in school played rugby, whereas the lads who thought they were hard played football" - now personally I don't entirely agree with that statement, but I can see what he means to an extent.

Anyway, back to the book. It's pretty much a warts and all story of the top Swansea 'faces' over the last 30 years or so broken down into sections by each hooligan. It was an ok read, but I felt the book was let down by a lack of consistency between each section - which could vary between 2 pages to 20+ pages.

From what my memory recalls of the media reporting about various bouts of trouble involving the Swansea Jacks, the book is a pretty accurate reproduction of the facts. It certainly won't be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're a local and follow the Swans then it should hold enough interest for you to see it through to the end.

The next book on my reading list is 'Killer Web Content' by Gerry McGovern - which as the title suggests is the complete opposite end of the spectrum in terms of my book reading habits!DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-90519656056389180312008-04-03T21:15:00.003+01:002008-04-03T21:39:28.675+01:00Free Digital PrintsSeeing as there is a spate of companies offering free digital prints at the moment, I thought I'd give you a breakdown of each one...

Truprint - 50 Free Digital Prints

Photobox- 50 Free Digital Prints

Snapfish - 30 Free Digital Prints

MyPixmania - 25 Free Digital Prints

Jessops - 20 Free Digital Prints

Now that can't be bad can it, I mean 175 FREE digital prints that should keep anyone going for a while I'm sure. He thoroughly enjoyed himself and so did all of the other kids - learning a lot about the world of insects at the same time.

The club is free to join and I'd recommend anyone with kids below the age of 7 to join (which you can do online). They have events dotted around the Swansea area, so there are bound to be some near you. Besides, it's a great excuse to get the kids outside having fun and learning at the same time.

The gloriously sunny and warm weather (this is what spring should be like!) made my lunchtime run along the beach all the more pleasant. Obviously judging by the number of sunbathers about (kitted out in bikinis I hasten to add!) I wasn't the only one enjoying the weather. Anyway, I did a 20 minute 16 second stint and am pleased thus far with my progress to get back to full fitness - whilst shedding the pounds!

After work I also decided to give the lawns their first proper crew cut of the season - partly because they needed it and because the weather for the weekend promises to be wintry! So much for spring eh *sigh*DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-7405585576038387412008-04-02T19:42:00.002+01:002008-04-02T19:46:11.274+01:00Woolworths Free Delivery Discount CodeMy voucher code posts are like buses today, you don't seen any for ages then they all come at once!

Anyway, Woolworths are giving shoppers the chance to make big savings on delivery until April 7th with the discount code for FREE delivery.

Use the code freea08 at the checkout to claim your FREE delivery from Woolworths.

Go to the Woolworths web site nowDDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-62541749148841589402008-04-02T19:30:00.002+01:002008-04-02T19:37:37.964+01:00Early Learning Centre Discount CodeIt's been quite some time since I last posted a discount code, so here comes one!

The Early Learning Centre are offering a 10% discount until the end of April.

Use the code AFF08 at the checkout to get your 10% off.

Remember this can be used in addition to the various 20% spring offers on the Early Learning Centre web site as well!

Go to the Early Learning Centre web site nowDDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-9550335368003709512008-04-01T20:12:00.006+01:002008-04-02T20:06:20.941+01:00Dentist x 2I mean how weird is that, both Mrs DDWT and I go to the dentist on the same day but at different times!?!?

In fairness though whilst I was having a filling done, the Mrs had to have an emergency appointment as her filling had fallen out. Just to complicate matters further - as Mrs DDWT is now 31 weeks pregnant - she can't have a "proper" filling only a temporary one, well until the baby is born anyhow.

It's a bloody good job we're with Denplan as well, otherwise it could have been a very expensive day all around!

As I was working from home today, I decided to give our York Elliptical workout machine a pounding for 25 minutes. During this session - in which I sweated the most I've done for many moons - I managed to cover 9km and burn 246 calories in the process! Whilst I felt a wee bit leg weary after it, I was glad I'd stuck to my guns and did some form of exercise.

DDWT Junior continues to make the most of the Easter holidays. He had his first proper go of his Apollo Moonman bike, which considering he'd been jumping/climbing/sliding about in Funsters most of the morning, he did quite well.

He also went to have his feet measured and like me, he also has one foot slightly bigger than the other. Anyway, he's now a size 10.5G.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-44230082639280866362008-03-31T19:40:00.006+01:002008-03-31T21:06:00.456+01:00Rome wasn't built in a day...... and in a similar vein, I'm not going to lose weight overnight either! But at least today saw a step in the right direction with me going for a lunchtime run, or perhaps jog would be a more appropriate word for it.

I did a 16 minute 37 second stint along the beach at Swansea bay - one of the pleasures and advantages of working just a stone throw away. I didn't particularly enjoy it, not because it was hard (it wasn't) but because I knew I was starting out all over again. This was a journey I'd already undertaken back in January 2006 and I'm annoyed to say the least that I've left myself go (albeit to not quite such a lump).

No doubt being back in work after a week long holiday didn't help my overall mood either but at least with it still being Easter half-term in these parts, lots of people are still off - which ultimately means some spare time to play catch-up on other bits of work.

DDWT Junior finally got his Apollo Moonman bike today after it finally arrived in stock at our local Halfords store.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-36991062054857309252008-03-30T21:33:00.003+01:002008-03-31T21:11:22.359+01:0018 stoneYes it's true my weight has now rocketed back up to 18 stone. It hurts to think how I've drifted back into my old habits i.e eating junk or lots of food in general and not exercising.

It really does make me feel sooooo down in the dumps, not because I weigh that much, but because I've left myself get to that point - having only last year shed a lot of weight to get to 16st 3lbs (which made me feel more than great at the time).

Feeling sorry for myself isn't going to help though, getting off my lazy backside and being stronger willed (in terms of food) are the only things that are going to get me out of this rut I seem to be currently stuck in.

On a brighter (well magnolia in fact) note, I've finally finished painting our downstairs hallway. Now there's only the downstairs loo, and upstairs landing to do!! Still it looks good and when I've tidied up the coving/skirting boards, it'll really look the mutts nuts I'm sure.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-62268284044091398882008-03-29T22:48:00.003Z2008-04-02T20:31:41.714+01:00Painting at lastHaving laboured away on our wallpaper removal project at home for quite a few weeks, it was with great pleasure (relief?) that I finally put brush to paint today and did the very first coat of magnolia on our hallway walls.

It took me far longer than I'd hoped/envisaged, but at least with the weather being pants outside it meant that I didn't feel aggrieved to be indoors. Besides, at least being indoors meant I could listen to the Swans commentary on Swansea Sound.

So it's been a good day all round, I painted, the Swans won 3-1 at Hartlepool and now I'm seriously considering going to Carlisle a week Tuesday!

Only one downside really, the house now stinks of paint. Now where did I put those onions...DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-45505494078828887892008-03-26T19:18:00.000Z2008-03-26T19:19:14.043ZLegoland WindsorDay 1 of our 2 day visit to Legoland has been a busy affair with us going on - the hill train, pirate falls, dragons apprentice, the dragon, longboat invader, viking river splash, orient expedition, boating school, wave surfer, dino safari and dino dipper!
We stopped off there - well the Oracle shopping centre to be precise - on our way to the Hilton Bracknell. Why such a random visit? Well we're off to Legoland tomorrow and for a £106 two night stay at the hotel we thought it was worth a punt.
From what we saw of Reading we were impressed - with the riverside development having am Amsterdam 'esque feel to it. It's a very modern place and one which we'd happily visit again when (if?) the Swans play Reading.

People usually say you feel it on the 2nd day after the exercise, seeing as I'm a day earlier, it says a lot doesn't it!

With the Swans playing at Bristol Rovers tonight and me working on the PC, I decided to try following the game online for a change as opposed to tuning into the Swansea Sound match commentary. I opted for the Soccernet coverage in the end and I must say it was great with both text and graphical information about the game - even showing where the shots were taken from and by whom! Whilst obviosuly this wasn't as good as the old radio, it made it more nailbiting ;)

Whilst on the subject of the Swans, I got my Gillingham ticket today as this is the next Dieters Bar Jacks away game on April 12th. If my maths and crystal ball serve me right, it *should* be the game that the Swans clinch promotion to the Coca Cola Championship.

We decided to see how tall DDWT Junior was today and he now stands at 108cm tall. Somehow I think he's following in my footsteps and won't be far off my 6ft 4" height when he's finished growing, unless he ends up being even taller of course!DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-61516256372123544522008-03-17T20:15:00.003Z2008-04-06T22:46:18.324+01:00Lets try againBloody hell has it been that long? That was one of my reactions after going on my first training session since December 17th last year!! Yes that's how long I decided to keep off the exercise due to the knee ligament problems I've been having.

So my first exercise stint of 2008 was a 17 minutes 27 seconds run, which amounted to no more than a couple of miles. Thus far I haven't had a reaction apart from some slight stiffness in my right knee, but I'd expected that. The next few days will be the real indicator of how the injury has healed (hopefully).

DDWT Junior has his Easter concert today and from what I've seen (and heard!) on the video recording he was on top form - and top of his voice as well! I knew he liked music and often sings along be it in the house or car, but even I was taken aback by the gusto he put into the concert. It seems as thought "Hooray for Jesus" is his favourite!!DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-54879056860962649122008-03-11T22:52:00.002Z2008-03-11T23:04:18.301ZSwansea v Tranmere RoversYet another night of frustration at the Liberty, with the Swans squandering another 2 points by conceding a sloppy last minute goal against Tranmere.

I wouldn't say we've got the promotion jitters yet, but another couple of games like this and I think we'll all start twitching - especially if Carlisle and Doncaster keep winning. The once upon a time lead of 14 points (between 1st and 3rd) is now down to 7 points, so I'm sure there'll be lots more twists and turns before the season is out.

As for the game tonight, well it was quite literally a game of two halfs - the Swans dominating the 1st half (with Alan Tate's spectacular volley putting us 1 nil up at half time) and Tranmere getting the honours (and 90th minute goal Grrrr) in the 2nd.

We look nervous at the moment, a lot of which stems from a lack of confidence in a back four missing Mr Reliable - Gary Monk. We also seem jaded and off the pace, especially as the game wore on tonight. Are the numerous FA Cup replays and LDV games beginning to take it's toll on top of a hectic league schedule?

With 3 tough aways games coming up on the bounce, I've a feeling the next 14 days will either cement an automatic promotion place or put us in the play-off dog fight. I sincerely hope it's the former, as there's no way I can face another play-off lottery a la 2 seasons ago.

Still we've got to be positive, we are top of the league and have lost once in 20 league games so I'm keeping the faith, even if my palms are getting ever so slightly sweaty :-)DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19626040.post-16706927064091972532008-03-07T23:15:00.002Z2008-03-07T23:22:44.779ZSwansea v MillwallWell I suppose the Swans had to lose sometime, but doing so against Kenny Jackett's Millwall at home just makes it all the more disappointing. With the 2-1 defeat also goes equalling the previous best of 19 league matches unbeaten, which was set in the 1970/71 season.

The game itself was pretty much the same old story of our recent home games - we created plenty of chances but lacked the quality finish in the final 3rd to kill teams off. Darren Prately in particular was guilty of misses 2 good chances from no more than 8 yards out. Defensively, we weren't up to the usual high standard tonight - the absence of Garry Monk only served to highlight what an important cog he is in the Swansea wheel. I also think this is the last season we'll see Kristian O'Leary in a Swans shirt, as on the evidence of recent games he simply isn't up to the required standard any longer (which is a shame as he's been such a loyal servant to the club).

Oh well, it's a disappointing start to the weekend, but we're still 11 points clear at the top of league one and who know's that lead might not be cut tomorrow after all - fingers crossed it won't be anyway.DDWThttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04824967164199178072noreply@blogger.com
